El Fuerte - Hotel Torres

We stayed here the first and last day of our Copper Canyon tour and it had to be one of the highlights of our trip.
The cab driver drove right by this unassuming entrance to what turned out to be the best place we stayed at .

This is the foyer looking towards the front entrance and the door to our bedroom

More foyer - we stayed here the first and last day of our Copper Canyon tour

We were told this was a 400 year old hacienda

Torres Del Fuerte Review

This meticulously appointed hacienda has the style and service of a four-star hotel, minus the stuffy atmosphere. The owner, whose father was born in the house, has an eclectic assortment of furnishings from all over the world. The sometimes eccentrically decorated theme rooms are all unique, and often quite romantic (lovers should ask for the Moroccan Room). The courtyard, with hummingbirds flitting around the fruit trees, is a real charmer.

The Christina Margarita - Christina was the manager and she took very good care of us. She makes a wicked margarita

Did I mention that we were the only guests at the hotel both nights we stayed here.
